STATEMENT OF FAITH FOR MORNING STAR COMMUNITY CHURCH

We do wholeheartedly believe:

A.In the supernatural and plenary inspiration of the Scriptures, that their teaching and authority are absolute, supreme and final.(2 Tim 3:16)

B.In the Trinity of the Godhead: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.(Dt 6:4; Mt 3:16-17; Mt 28:19)

C.In the personality of God; the personality and deity of Jesus Christ, begotten of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, very God and very Man; the personality of the Holy Spirit.(Jn 1:1-2, 14; Lk1:26-35; Jn 16:13-14)

D.In the resurrection of Jesus Christ; that His body was raised from the dead according to the Scripture, and that He ascended into Heaven and sits on the right hand of God as believer's Advocate.(Lk 24:6-7,37-39; Acts 1:9-11; Hb 10:12; 1 Jn 2:1)

E.In the sinfulness of man: that all human beings are born with a sinful nature, are totally depraved and need a Savior from sin.(Rm 3:10,23; Ps 51:5; Rm 6:23)

F.In the Atonement; that Jesus Christ became the sinner's sacrifice before God and died as the propitiation or payment for the sins of the whole world.(2 Cor 5:21; Rm 3:25; Jn 3:17)

G.In the necessity of the new birth; salvation is by grace through faith and not of works, saving faith will maintain good works in the life of the believer.(Jn 3:3-5; Eph 2:8-9; Eph 2:10)

H.In the literal resurrection of the body; both of the just and the unjust.(1 Jn 3:2; Lk 14:14; Jn 5:28-29)

I.In the everlasting blessedness of the saved; and the everlasting punishment of the lost.(Jn 14:1-3; Rev 21:1; 22:7; 14:10-11)

J.In the evangelization of the world; the supreme mission of the church in this age is to preach the Gospel to all mankind.(Mk 16:15; Mt 28:19-20; Acts 1:8)
